Sometimes a design challenge is about developing a set of procedures to reach
the desired outcome.
A training group within McDonald’s Corporation needed a guide that explained to
staff members how to provide content for their new intranet site. The site had
many different time-sensitive topics, and authors of varying levels of autonomy located
all over the world. I worked with the intranet team to brainstorm, and then map and
the procedures different authors would follow to complete and submit
The result was an illustrated handbook and tracking sheet that the entire team uses
to keep the site updated with fresh, relevant information.
